What kind of trip is Kingston?
Kingston is the middle ground on our list of longer routes. Visit Kingston describes it as about a three-hour drive from Toronto, and the city sits roughly halfway between Toronto and Montreal. That puts it at the edge of what works as a day trip. Some groups go there and back in one day, while others stay a night and make it a weekend.
Three common plans
- Long day trip. Early departure, a few hours in town, return in the evening.
- Overnight stay. Drive down, check in, enjoy the evening, return the next day.
- Stop on a bigger route. A halfway break before you carry on toward Ottawa or Montreal.
Each plan changes the quote differently, so tell us which one is closest to what you want.
How waiting and rest are handled
On a day trip, the key question is where the driver spends the hours you are away. We discuss it when you enquire and write the answer into the quote: waiting nearby, returning at a set time, or staying on call. Whatever you pick goes into the quote in writing, and we avoid promising anything about regulations that we cannot back up.
Getting into town
Visit Kingston says the city is just off Highway 401. Take exit 615 for Sir John A Macdonald Blvd. and drive south about 6 km, and King Street West heads to the downtown. Highway 2 westbound crosses the LaSalle Causeway, which closes on select dates for marine navigation, and Highway 33 eastbound leads to Princess Street. If your destination is on one of those approaches, tell us so the driver knows which to use.
What people go for
Visit Kingston sorts its attractions into history and museums, arts and culture, tours and cruises, and outdoors and adventure. We cannot name every venue, and we do not claim any link with them, but any of those categories can shape your plan. A group that wants a museum day behaves differently from one that wants a harbour afternoon, so send us what is on your list.
Vehicles for a Kingston day
| Group size | Vehicle | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 3 | Executive sedan | Business trips, couples |
| Up to 6 | Luxury SUV | Families, small teams |
| 8 to 10 | Stretch limousine | Celebrations, friend groups |
| Up to 20 or more | Party bus | Larger parties, school or club outings |
Look at the limo service page for more about how the limos work, or the party bus page for larger groups.
One-way or return
A one-way booking is fine if you plan to stay on in Kingston or travel on by other means, though the vehicle must still make its way back to Toronto. A return booking keeps the same vehicle for the day. If you are collecting people from several GTA addresses, list them in order.
Luggage
Day trips carry light bags, jackets and the odd cooler. Overnight stays add suitcases. Say what is coming and we match the vehicle to the load.
Ask for your quote
Send the date, the Toronto pickup, your Kingston address, how many are travelling, and whether it is a day or an overnight. The online form is the easiest place to begin, and +1 647 477 1520 reaches us by WhatsApp too. Traffic leaving Toronto can add time, so we plan the pickup with a margin.
