How do you reach Billy Bishop?
The airport’s island terminal links to the mainland in two ways: an electric ferry, and a pedestrian tunnel. The airport puts the ferry crossing at 90 seconds and says the tunnel reaches downtown in under six minutes. On the mainland side there is a pavilion and ferry terminal, which is where taxis and rideshare have their official spots. Taxis line up in a corral to the right of the pavilion, and rideshare uses a curb next to Little Norway Park.
What does that mean for a limo pickup?
The airport’s pages cover taxis, rideshare and drop-offs, but they do not set out a specific rule for chauffeured vehicles. For that reason we do not promise a fixed spot on this page. A few rules from the airport are worth knowing:
- The curb outside the terminal, pavilion and ferry terminal is a no-parking zone for active loading and unloading only.
- Complimentary spots inside the turning circle are limited to a five-minute wait, once the passenger is confirmed as arriving.
- Vehicles can cross the Western Gap by ferry to the island terminal, subject to the airport’s own charges.
Because of these limits, the best handover is a short one. Message the driver when you clear the terminal.
